Garchumuk Tourist Spot
Garchumuk is located in the district of Howrah of West Bengal at the confluence of River Hooghly and River Damodar.
The spot offers a spectacular view of the Ganges that is gradually emerging as a popular tourist destination ideal for a weekend tour. It is situated at the converging point of the two rivers, Damodar and Hooghly (which is the Ganges), which enhances the scenic beauty of the location.
A Deer Park known as Garchumuk Deer Park has recently come up at Garchumuk beside the river, where you can spend some nice moments with your family amidst landscaped gardens watching the frolicking deer herd.

Garchumuk Deer Park is a beatiful property that's being set up by the govt. with quite a good number of deers at the park. The entry fee is quite nominal (Rs. 10/- pp). Quite a big area for family picnic with a number of wild animals like crocodiles, tortoise, porcupine and deer in enclosed area.
Garchumuk 58 gate
The prime attraction of Garchumuk is the beautiful barrage, popularly called 58 No. gate or Atanna Gate, where 58 lock gates have been built. Visitors flock to the site to view this extensive barrage.
Garchumuk also features a nice Deer Park. You can also spot irrigation canals connecting the rivers Damodar and Hooghly. Above all, it is the breathtaking natural beauty of the rivers and their surroundings that fascinate the visitors.
How to Reach
You can avail of a number of options to reach Garchumuk. Trains are available from Howrah, which takes around 45 minutes to reach Uluberia. From Uluberia, you will find trekkers and buses to take you to Gorchumuk. Gorchumuk is located at a distance of 60 km from Esplanade and takes around 2.5 hours to reach the destination.
Avail a bus heading to Gadiara from Esplanade, and drop down at the 58 No gate stop. You can also drive along Bombay Road to Uluberia and then take the local road to reach Garhchumuk.
